As a Muslim myself I don't see anything offensive in the lyrics purportedly present in the game, nor the mixing of music with verses from the Qu'ran so long as the context of those verses are appropriate and do not undermine nor devalue their significance (and that goes for all religions and beliefs) - after all, in Islam, is not calling for prayer conducted in a manner of song? I suppose that's up for debate...

Sony may have caused themselves more harm than good but I have to commend them as a company for recalling such a strategically important product at the last minute in what I perceive to be a truly gallant act of corporate social responsibility.

I find EA's renewed quality targets a little confusing at this point since Tiberium doesn't seem too out of place from the publisher's current crop of titles if the previews are anything to go by. There must have been some serious issues under the hood then.

I wonder if similar acquisition plans are on the cards for the UK? GameStop's presence here seems to be rather muted at best thus far.

I have to say I feel for the Japanese gamers as I too (although not Japanese) have spent much of my gaming life playing Japanese titles and appreciate gaming culture particularly from Japan, which is very different to the Western market.

I do see the logic of Sony wanting to push for global recognition and appeal but I see that as no excuse to abandon the particulars of any one territory. Globalization like communism looks great on paper but in practice has many shortcomings. Are we then in the name of a more homogenized global gaming market supposed to believe that gaming culture's future is to be seen through one set of eyes?
