Capcom has confirmed to Edge that the Playstation Network version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix will not be released in the UK this week and has no official release date.
The thoroughly-revamped 2D fighter is due out in the US today on the Playstation Network and is scheduled to launch on Xbox Live tomorrow.
However, a Capcom spokesperson has told Edge that there is no official release date for the UK version on PSN, yet Britons will still the Xbox Live version released tomorrow.
The game, which we featured in This Week’s Big Releases, will cost 1200 Microsoft Points to play.

Sony Europe have not even issued a release date for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD REMIX on the Playstation 3 Store in the UK/EU and it looks like it could be some time! XBOX 360 users in the UK have it, the rest of the PS3 world has it, but not Europe!
I'm such a big fan, I wanted this game so bad. There's not been a Street Fighter title on PS3 and I've been longing to fire hadukens at players around the world for over a year! So I decided to try a way of getting it and It worked!
I am now playing Street Fighter online with the world using my PSN account in the UK.
I have decided to help others who want this game now and can't wait maybe months for it to be released on the UK and EU stores.
Buy the game in the UK or EU here...

When this was first announced and the first batches of concept art came trickling in, I was pretty excited. But all that enthusiasm has evaporated by now - now I'm more leaning towards "Why bother?".
The 'high-res', US comic-book style re-renderings of the sprites mesh really badly with the backgrounds. Basically, it looks terrible - despite it being in HD. The reason is an aesthetical one - I'm convinced that if Capcom Japan were in charge of this remake instead of Udon, it would have looked a lot more convincing.
So it might be Super Street Fighter II Turbo in terms of mechanics or gameplay, but aesthetically it looks like a bad Flash game. Guess I'll stay with the CPS2 arcade version, or better yet, just go for Street Fighter IV, which is just around the corner.
I'm actually pretty annoyed with this, because I feel like we've had no explanation of why this has happened whatsoever, like so many delays. I don't agree with the idea that we should just accept it, I think we should whinge, whine and complain until they sort it out.
The level of customer service when it comes to videogames and videogame content doesn't seem to be considered very seriously, even by the bigwigs of the industry, and I think that's another immaturity in the industry. We are still customers like anyone else.
I know it's a bit of a tenuous link, but if you bought a sofa from DFS and they sent you a letter saying "we will no longer be delivering your sofa on Thursday, and we can't really say when it'll arrive and we're giving you no explanation as to why this is the case", you wouldn't be marvellously happy.
This is the first time I've done this (honest!) but I think I'm going to email SCEE and ask them (politely) what the hell is going on. Not in an angry lunatic way, but in a constructive way, and I think more people should start doing this, because this is a game I'd love to get my hands on. What do we get instead? Carol Vorderman's Sudoku.
As an early adopter, I feel like I've wasted my money and time sometimes.
I'm sure that this is part of some sort of vendetta against UK Playstation owners!
I was actually really looking forward to this as I've got back into Street Fighter in a big way since more details on SF4 have been released. I was hoping that this would serve as a means of getting used to playing street fighter online on the PS3 ready for when SF4 rolls around. And it would also be nice to play a 'new' street fighter game for a change ( Obviously I use the term 'new' loosely).
I felt a bit cheated like this when I found out they weren't putting 3rd Strike on the Anniversary collection on the PS2 here. I hope they don't announce something equally as annoying when it comes to Street Fighter 4.
Capcom have loads being released at the moment, it's perfectly understandable why this title has been shunted. It's not like PS3 games are crying out for a remixed version of Street Fighter 2 anyway. Most of us would be more worried if we we're talking about Street Fighter 4. I do hope this is still on course for a Q1 multi-platform release.
I'd rather wait and get something worth waiting for rather than a rushed version that's full of bugs and reliant on patches. oh well, I guess that another thing the xboxers can use as ammunition.
Besides if you that desperate to play it you could always download the Mame version.. They've been doing the rounds again since Street Fighter 4 was announced. Guess everyones keen to get familiar with SF again :D
Here is what I've learned to say when I hear about about major delays for the Playstation 3:
"Guys, it's Playstation 3...The system that tells us 'Wait Beyond' for games."
Seriously, the delays have gotten out of control for the Playstation 3. They have been for a long time. But at this point the problem needs to be accepted and lived with, because there obviously is no hope for an absolute solution.
