The Japanese game market shrank by more than 20% in the last six months, according to Enterbrain.
Hardware sales were down 33.5% and software sales declined 11.3%. PSP topped sales in Japan notching up 1.58 million units. Second was DS with sales of 1.31 million units. Wii has sold 1.11 million units, followed by PS3 (350,000) and Xbox 360 (140,000).
The top selling title was Mario Kart Wii (1.74 million) followed by Monster Hunter Portable (1.6 million)

That's still quite a bit. I always wonder with hardware sales... at a certain point, doesn't everybody that plays games simply *have* a console?
I used to, but they all broke down. Kinda turned me off from consoling. Now i just aimlessy wander the news, and munch on the greenest grass I can find... Hey, looky there, a nice bail of hay, catch y'all later.
Here's hoping things pick up post TGS.
