Future U.S.-owned GamesRadar.com, sibling site to Edge-Online, has released a free and publicly available games data API (Application Programming Interface).

The data API includes full game information such as names, publishers and ESRB ratings and lists of reviews, previews, news, features, screenshots, videos, cheats and guides.

Future U.S. said the API is just the beginning of a series of product releases "designed to make GamesRadar an increasingly open web services platform."

GamesRadar expects social media application developers, independent website owners and other media companies to utilize the API.

Future hopes to "create a movement to standardize videogame metadata" to improve interoperability among videogame-related internet businesses.

Future U.S. partner N4G is currently using the API to sync its gaming news feeds onto GamesRadar.com.

Comscore states that the GamesRadar Network has a monthly unique audience of 5.1 million.

You don't use a popup blocker (or Adblock, even)?

I might actually go to that site if they stopped with the popup ads.
