Seattle-based online game firm Big Fish Games has closed an $83 million financing from Balderton Capital, General Catalyst Partners and Salmon River Capital, the company announced Friday.
Big Fish said the National Venture Capital Association cites the investment as one of the top 15 in non-life sciences areas in the U.S., and the largest this year in Washington State.
Big Fish, which operates online destinations for mass market "casual" games, said the capital will be used towards global expansion.
Games on Big Fish's website include Mystery Case Files, Azada, Hidden Expedition and Fairway Solitaire.
According to Big Fish, it works with over 500 game developers and distributes over 1 million games per day worldwide.
