Very successful AAA games studio based in Newcastle, a leading developer, publisher, and marketer of interactive entertainment software, are looking for a Senior Animator to join their team. £30,000 on Experience + Benefits and Package
The studios videogames are available for play on all major videogame platforms including the Playstation3 computer entertainment system, Xbox360 video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS. The studio is legendary in the industry with early breakthrough titles including Defender and Spy Hunter. More recent blockbuster titles include NBA Ballers, Blitz: The League and the Mortal Kombat series.
Reports to the Animation Leads and Studio Art Director
Role overview:
The role involves, being responsible for the animation process right through from the Motion capture clean up to final in game motions
Functional responsibilities:
• Will be required to animate objects, characters for in-game, cut scenes and renders
• Good trouble shooting abilities
• Ability to maintain a defined animation style
• Be able to finish task in the required time
Skills required:
• Thorough understanding of classic animation principles
• Good knowledge and understanding of motion curves
• Skilled in at least one major 3D animation package
• A good understanding of technical animation knowledge
• Will require good artistic and visualisation skills
Skills desired:
• Experience in using Motionbuilder and/or UnrealEngine3 is a big bonus
• Good character and facial animation skills (inc lip-sync)
• Experience in working with Motion Capture, from motion studio shoots to setup files for in-game characters
• Good knowledge of the Cinematic process, including editing and compositing
• A good technical understanding of rigging and python scripting
Education and experience:
• We are looking for at least 3 years experience in games, TV or Film industry, and or 2 published titles.
